The struggle that many clients come to me with is that they have some small online presence – maybe a niche website, blog, or social media presence, but they aren’t getting much engagement. This can be very discouraging for creative types. If Kim K can get millions and millions of views on her latest Instagram ass picture, why can’t your business, producing value for your fellow humans, get a little traffic?
The answer is that it can, but you need to learn how to speak the right language. I find it helpful to think of the internet as a foreign country with its own language, customs, traditions, dialects, cultures, etc. Its a fractal reflection of the whole of humanity, expressed in text, image, sound, and video.
Many clients I work with aren’t immediately aware that its actually never been easier to get your message out to the world, and to your target audience. We’re experiencing a global revolution in sales and marketing, and while most are aware that its happening, most are not capitalizing on the opportunities using best practices.
Fortunately, some influencers like Gary Vaynerchuk are doing a great job of teaching a new generation how to use the incredibly powerful tools at our disposal. Highly recommend his keynote from National Achievers Congress below:
My favorite quote from this keynote: “The phone has won. If you do not have content on Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube, you don’t exist. If you aren’t putting out something today, somebody else is and you’re losing market share.”
The takeaway is that now is the perfect time for you to grow your business, organization, or personal brand online. Not only is it the perfect time, but it’s a NECESSITY. There are millions of humans out there that want to know more about you. And, if you are speaking the right language, you can reach that tribe and bring them to you.
